Long time, no post, Part II

I have been so bad about posting lately. I have so many pictures that I need download from my camera, but I just haven't done it yet. I think what happened is that in the summer or fall, our hard drive fried on our desktop, where all the pictures we've ever taken are located. It breaks my heart to know I can't access pictures of Evan from birth up until when the crash happened. We really need to get it looked at by a professional to see if anything can be salvaged from it. Anyways, the point is, I've been wary about downloading pictures onto the computer because I'm worried I'll lose them again, and my laptop is just way too slow to do anything with. It drives me crazy. We did recently get an external hard drive and are able to back up so I just really need to hook that camera up and go to town.

So as of Sunday, Evan is obsessed with Ice Age. I think we've watched it 3 or 4 times in the last 48 hours. I've got the original playing in my car on the way home from day care, and then we watch the latest at home. We spent about 20 minutes last night while he was in the tub discussing the movie. It was awesome! He is so smart, and I just love hearing what he has to say, because you never know what is going to come out of his mouth. Now if we could just get him potty-trained, life would be grand. Anyone have any brilliant ideas on that front?

Long Time, No Post

Well I haven't been on here in forever. Evan is growing like a weed, he's almost 2 1/2. He talks and sings up a storm and he is so smart. It really is amazing...being a parent.

Will post new pics soon.

Oh No!!

Saturday night we had hard tacos for dinner. Eric broke up a hard taco into chips for Evan and then gave him the meat and beans and rice separately. We tried to get him to put some of the meat on top of the chip. The first time he did it, the meat fell off on the way to his mouth and I said "Oh No! It fell off." This turned into a game for Evan. He would put the meat on the chip, then deliberately make it fall off and exclaim "oh no!" It was so funny!! I took a little video of it. What a cutie!

The Beach

Eric, Evan and I took a little mini-vacation to Rockport, TX this past weekend. We left Friday at around lunch time and made it there by 4pm. We stayed at an RV park that had a cabin you could rent. It was a cute little one room cabin. It had two beds, a mini-fridge and microwave, tv, little kitchen table, etc. We were quite comfortable there. It was a perfect place for us because we could bring Lilo and we had that little kitchen area so we were able to bring breakfast and lunch food and we went out for dinner. Evan was really good during the car ride, we didn't even stop once. He was pretty restless at the restaurant that night though. We hung out at the cabin that evening, and Evan decided to entertain himself by playing in Lilo's bed.On Saturday morning, we got up, ate breakfast, and headed to Rockport Beach Park for a few hours. It was a really nice beach and the water was very calm and really shallow. We saw a few small crabs crawling in the water tucked inside their seashells. Evan played in the sand and in the water. Eric would make a big pile of sand and Evan would knock it down. He really seemed to enjoy himself. It wasn't too hot either, since we went at 8:30am. We stayed for a few hours and then went home to clean up and eat lunch.

After lunch we headed to the Fulton Mansion for the tour. We got to see a few rooms (or I did) but then Evan really started getting restless and fussy, so we had to cut our tour short. I really wanted to see the rest of the house, but I'll have to save that for next time.
After we spent a few hours relaxing and trying unsuccessfully to get Evan to take a nap, we headed to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. The aquarium was fantastic! We really enjoyed it. It wasn't very packed, which was surprising for a Saturday afternoon and Evan was able to see a lot of things from the comfort of his stroller. He really had fun looking at all the fish. They also have dolphins, american otters and big turtles on display. We watched the dolphins for a long time, from under water. They would come swimming by the windows and one dolphin even "played dead" at the bottom of the pool. My favorite thing by far were the otters. There were two of them and they were chasing each other all over their little habitat and wrestling. They were so cute!!! The aquarium even had a porcupine from the Amazon, and Piranhas!! It was weird because the piranhas didn't even look real, they were perfectly still in the tank. It was really cool. If you ever get a chance to go I definitely recommend it.We had a great time and would definitely do it again.

PawPaw's Mule

Nanny and PawPaw bought a mule for the ranch so we went to the ranch a few weekends ago to check it out and to visit with Lee & Cindy. It was so much fun to drive and Evan enjoyed it as well. We even got a shot of Evan "drinking and driving." Of course, the main thing he wanted to do was look at PawPaw's tractor. He loves it! Evan looked cool rocking his sunglasses. It's funny because that was the first time he'd really wear them. Before he would just play with them.On another note, we bought Evan a bean bag chair a few weeks ago. He likes to fall down on to it, almost like he's doing a swan dive. He'll do it over and over again. Whenever I'm laying on it and he wants to play with it, he says " mama off..or mama get off." Sheesh!! :0) It's pretty cute though. Also, Margi (our wonderful daycare provider) told me that Evan takes naps with this toy tractor, so we went out and bought him a plush John Deere to take to bed with him. He's so sweet!!
