Oh No!!

Saturday night we had hard tacos for dinner. Eric broke up a hard taco into chips for Evan and then gave him the meat and beans and rice separately. We tried to get him to put some of the meat on top of the chip. The first time he did it, the meat fell off on the way to his mouth and I said "Oh No! It fell off." This turned into a game for Evan. He would put the meat on the chip, then deliberately make it fall off and exclaim "oh no!" It was so funny!! I took a little video of it. What a cutie!

The Beach

Eric, Evan and I took a little mini-vacation to Rockport, TX this past weekend. We left Friday at around lunch time and made it there by 4pm. We stayed at an RV park that had a cabin you could rent. It was a cute little one room cabin. It had two beds, a mini-fridge and microwave, tv, little kitchen table, etc. We were quite comfortable there. It was a perfect place for us because we could bring Lilo and we had that little kitchen area so we were able to bring breakfast and lunch food and we went out for dinner. Evan was really good during the car ride, we didn't even stop once. He was pretty restless at the restaurant that night though. We hung out at the cabin that evening, and Evan decided to entertain himself by playing in Lilo's bed.On Saturday morning, we got up, ate breakfast, and headed to Rockport Beach Park for a few hours. It was a really nice beach and the water was very calm and really shallow. We saw a few small crabs crawling in the water tucked inside their seashells. Evan played in the sand and in the water. Eric would make a big pile of sand and Evan would knock it down. He really seemed to enjoy himself. It wasn't too hot either, since we went at 8:30am. We stayed for a few hours and then went home to clean up and eat lunch.

After lunch we headed to the Fulton Mansion for the tour. We got to see a few rooms (or I did) but then Evan really started getting restless and fussy, so we had to cut our tour short. I really wanted to see the rest of the house, but I'll have to save that for next time.
After we spent a few hours relaxing and trying unsuccessfully to get Evan to take a nap, we headed to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. The aquarium was fantastic! We really enjoyed it. It wasn't very packed, which was surprising for a Saturday afternoon and Evan was able to see a lot of things from the comfort of his stroller. He really had fun looking at all the fish. They also have dolphins, american otters and big turtles on display. We watched the dolphins for a long time, from under water. They would come swimming by the windows and one dolphin even "played dead" at the bottom of the pool. My favorite thing by far were the otters. There were two of them and they were chasing each other all over their little habitat and wrestling. They were so cute!!! The aquarium even had a porcupine from the Amazon, and Piranhas!! It was weird because the piranhas didn't even look real, they were perfectly still in the tank. It was really cool. If you ever get a chance to go I definitely recommend it.We had a great time and would definitely do it again.

PawPaw's Mule

Nanny and PawPaw bought a mule for the ranch so we went to the ranch a few weekends ago to check it out and to visit with Lee & Cindy. It was so much fun to drive and Evan enjoyed it as well. We even got a shot of Evan "drinking and driving." Of course, the main thing he wanted to do was look at PawPaw's tractor. He loves it! Evan looked cool rocking his sunglasses. It's funny because that was the first time he'd really wear them. Before he would just play with them.On another note, we bought Evan a bean bag chair a few weeks ago. He likes to fall down on to it, almost like he's doing a swan dive. He'll do it over and over again. Whenever I'm laying on it and he wants to play with it, he says " mama off..or mama get off." Sheesh!! :0) It's pretty cute though. Also, Margi (our wonderful daycare provider) told me that Evan takes naps with this toy tractor, so we went out and bought him a plush John Deere to take to bed with him. He's so sweet!!

The Bounce Part 2

We went to my friend Brandi's son Phin's 3rd birthday party yesterday at The Bounce. Evan, again had a blast. He learned how to climb up this small ladder in one of the bounce houses that led to a small slide. He thought that was awesome. He'd come down the slide and then climb back up the slide and slide down again. I think that was his favorite part of the whole thing because he just kept going up and coming down.

It was a Wall-E themed birthday party and Brandi made this amazing cake! She's so talented.

Then and Now

Evan has discovered his old cradle, which he can now climb in. I thought I'd post a pic of him when he was about 1 month old sleeping in it...and a pic of him at 21 months in it.

Visiting Emily

Last weekend Evan and I headed to Houston to visit Emily. We were also invited to Sarah's 30th Birthday party at Emily's mom's house that evening. We had a great time. It felt like old times at Em's mom's. Cate and her daughters Evan and Olivia were there, Ann & Jerry were there, of course Sarah, Matt & little Grant, Em & Steve, Christie's friend Julie, Charlie, Aunt Sus and her friend Johnny, and Ann's sister Christie. Cate had brought homemade hummus with pita chip crackers as an appetizer. Evan loved it! He just dug into it like crazy...I think it ended up being his dinner. It was so funny. He had it all over his face and of course it ended up on my legs.

With Auntie Emimy (Emily)

the beautiful birthday girl SarahOh the big news from the visit is that Uncle Steve held Evan for the first time and played with him. :O) I like to give Steve a hard time about always being conveniently "gone" when Evan is around. Hahahah!! Evan enjoyed playing with Emily and Steve's dog Kelsie. She has this Frisbee that she loves to play with and will carry it around in her mouth all day it seems. Evan called it a plate and he would get it from her and throw it for her. It was pretty funny. He was a little bashful with her at first because she's a lot bigger of a dog than Lilo but she was really good with him.

Sunday morning, we got up before Em and Steve so I was being artsy with my camera. I love my camera! We had a great weekend and Evan loves his Auntie Emimy!

Fun at the Bounce

A few weeks ago Evan was invited to my friend Chelsea's son Morgan's 4th birthday party at The Bounce. She also has a son named Mason, who is just 2 months older than Evan. So needless to say, Mason and Evan "hung out" together. The Bounce is an indoor playground for kids with a bunch of different kinds of bouncy castles. Evan did not know what to think at first and he was very shy. Mason showed him how it was done and he finally warmed up to the idea. It was so fun watching him play with someone his own age and hearing him say "Mace." The Bounce also has these huge bouncy slides, that Eric was allowed to go up with Evan on. Evan really enjoyed it. We have another birthday party at the Bounce today, and I know Evan will have fun because he is a pro now.

Having fun at Rusty Hill Ranch

Eric and I decided on Saturday to head to Giddings to visit PawPaw at Rusty Hill Ranch. We stayed the night at the barndaminium. It's very nice, like a little apartment. Evan got to run around and play on the bulldozer and Daddy took him for a ride on PawPaw's tractor. He also helped Daddy and PawPaw work on putting the sink in. It was a nice, relaxing weekend and it was great to get away. We had some yummy dinner at the Northrup Store. Yummy yummy!!!

Evan is so freaking cute!!

I've taken some really cute pictures of Evan lately. He is such a little ham. This will mainly be a picture blog. He can say Evan Andrew...although Andrew sounds like Andoo. He said "fart" the other day, after I had said it. It's really quite hilarious when he repeats some words, but I guess Eric and I are going to have to really start watching what we say, otherwise Evan will be the only kid with a full arsenal of cuss words at daycare. :0) So anyways, here are some photos...enjoy.In the outfit Grandma Cindy bought me.

He's not really into wearing hats, but I got him to wear them while we were outside. Eating some "dirt" with MommyGrandma Minnie has been very crafty while she's in Idaho. She knitted me this hat and I had a fun time running around with it on. Just being silly......this is the cap to his snack cup.

July 4th Weekend and some random pics

A few weeks ago we had a breakfast pizza for dinner. After dinner I let Evan out of his high chair and then the little sneak was getting food off his plate on the table. He looked so funny...just seeing a little head poking up above the table.

He got some rocking Spiderman sneakers a few weekends ago that light up in the back when he walks. He think's he's pretty cool and he looks super cute in them.
Some random pics I've taken recently
Yes, he's wearing my slippers

He climbed up on that chair all by himself

July 4th Weekend

These are photos from the "beach" at Moody Gardens in Galveston and the Lastovica's pool in Mt. Belvieu. Evan did a really good job in the water. It took him a few minutes to get used to it but then he was having a blast. They had a wading pool at Moody Garden's so he could stand up and walk around and he really liked that. We also went to the Aquarium but he was getting tired, so he started being really grumpy. We left not to long after that and he was asleep before we even left the parking lot.

On Sunday, before we headed home I took Evan for a ride in his wagon so we would stay out of Eric and Lee's way while they moved a couch. It was humid, but windy, so it actually felt pretty nice.
Lee and Eric came outside, so Evan grabbed Lee's thumb and they walked to the front porch to roll up the hose before they brought the couch out.
