Busted Lip

Sunday night we were hanging out after dinner and Evan ran into the kitchen and tripped. He started screaming bloody murder. Apparently when he fell he bit his lip, or something. He was bleeding like crazy and wouldn't quit crying. It was very nerve wrecking. Thank goodness all his teeth were still there and it wasn't that bad of a cut, it just bled a lot. He had a fat lip for the night, and when he'd rub his face on anything, it would start bleeding again. That part of being a mom sucks! Needless to say, he's back to normal now.

Catching Rain

So I finally downloaded the pictures I took from this past weekend. We went to LaGrange on Saturday so that Evan's Great Aunt Jane could see him. He wanted to play outside so bad, but it was raining. We let him hang out with PawPaw while he was grilling chicken, and Evan was trying to catch the rain. It was too funny! He then spent about an hour crawling up and walking down the steps to the backdoor. He would crawl up them, stand up on the top step, and wait for PawPaw to hold his hand while he walked down the steps like a big boy. Yes my child is outside in a shirt and diaper.
In Evan's Easter basket he had these egg shaped boxes that had toys in them. Well they were still at the house in LaGrange, so he was playing with them. It started with me putting it on my head and him laughing, but he really got going when Eric put it on his head. Evan was laughing so hard, it was really cute! I love the sound of his laugh. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy in side. If I'm having a shitty day, his laugh definitely makes me feel better. On Sunday morning, Evan decided he wanted to put his mandals on. He looked hilarious in his jammy shirt, diaper and mandals, but he insisted that Daddy put them on. So that's how he hung out.

Mother's Day Weekend

We spent Mother's Day weekend in Mont Belvieu at Lee & Cindy's. Evan had a grand ol' time. Eric and Lee played golf on Saturday while Cindy and I headed to Stinkadena to the JC Penney's to get some portraits made of Evan. Needless to say, I picked the one set with the little toy train, and he would not give that train up during any of the shots, so it is in every single picture. :0) He then proceeded to throw a fit when we left and do the whole "limp body" thing when you pick him up. He quieted down after I gave him some graham crackers. I have learned as a mother, that food works! So does electronic appliances that he really shouldn't play with (i.e. cell phones, ipods, etc.) We also went to a shoe store so I could get some shoes for walking and Evan was happy as a lark. He was running all over the store and finding wheels to play with. If there is a wheel in the room, my son can find it. We had a crawfish boil that evening and after dinner, Evan did the whole "squat by the table and take a crap" thing.
Yep, he's crapping in both of these shots! :0) He also had fun playing on the couches, because they are low enough for him to climb on without assistance.

Cindy has some awesome 80's style sunglasses for him to play with. He liked trying to put them on mama and daddy. They are pretty freaking awesome. I'll have to post the picture I have of Eric in them, later.
He thinks he looks pretty cool. Now I need to get him a pair of sunglasses. He wanted to run around the house with them on but they kept on slipping off of his face. He's saying new words now such as "ice, dirty, glass, on, up." It's amazing how many words he's learning.

On another note, Jared and Amber came over to Lee & Cindy's on Saturday with Amber's schnauzer Oof. Oof was shaved short, no skirt or long leg hair and she looked cute and comfy. So I decided to do the same to Lilo, and now she looks like a rat! She's so damn skinny. Plus, shaving her legs was hard! Because again, she's skinny and very boney. I don't think there is an ounce of fat on that dog. So please take a look at my goofy looking dog! Poor thing!

Good thing you can't see the bald spots where I shaved her too short in this picture!

Steak Dinner

We had yummy steak and baked potatoes for dinner last night. Evan really enjoyed it. Before dinner he was running around in a t-shirt, diaper and frocs. It was quite funny. He of course had potato all over his face, and when he was chewing his steak, he would make this kind of grrrr face and shake his head. He thinks its funny, especially since I do it back to him.
You can see the little piece of steak in his mouth.

And to top off the evening, he squatted behind the table after dinner, to take a crap. That's my son!
Anybody have a magazine I can look at?

My first attempt at Scrap Blogging

So for some reason, the first picture didn't come out. I don't know how to fix it. Anyways, not too bad huh??

The Ranch, Camping & Evan's new toy box

So I'm finally getting around to posting another entry. The last two weekends have been busy ones. We went to Houston on 4/25 to see my brother and his family and Sharon & Bob. Then on the 26th we went to Rusty Hill Ranch. (Lee & Cindy's property) so that Evan could see his Mawmaw, Pawpaw and Meme (his great grandmother.) Lee took Evan for a ride in the tractor which he loved, and Cindy took him for a ride in his wagon. Have I mentioned that he's obsessed with wheels?

Check me and PawPaw out!

Camping
Evan went on his 2nd camping trip this past weekend to Lake Somerville. He had a blast running around, playing in the dirt, finding wheels wherever he could, and playing with a big Malamute named Jada. It was also the last time he was going to see Grandma Minnie and Grandpa Mark for 5 months as they are traveling up to Idaho for the summer.
The fresh air wore him out and on our last day there, he crashed!
New toy box
Grandpa Mark and Grandma Minnie made Evan a toy box/hamper/wipe holder that is totally cool. It looks like a safari truck with wheels and everything. Grandpa made it and Grandma painted it.
Check out my cool toy box!

It goes with my jungle themed room!

On another note, it's amazing how much Evan's vocabulary has increased just over the last few days. Some new words he's saying are: grass, ham, dath(his version of bath), and on. His favorite word is off. I think he likes the sound of the f's.
